Winter Club will resume in October

Winter Club will celebrate its 75th anniversary during the 2014-2015 season. In October 1940, when the Indiana State Fairgrounds Coliseum was a year old, a group of ice skating enthusiasts organized “The Winter Club of Indianapolis.” A member of the U.S. Figure Skating Association, Winter Club has been home to generations of champions and recreational skaters. Winter Club’s 75th season will be bigger and better: Free-skating sessions and Learn to Skate group lessons will be offered from October through March in Youth Arena.

Winter Club Learn to Skate group lessons will resume in October. We offer classes for beginners and advanced skaters, following the U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills Program. Our professional coaches teach fun classes for children (3 and older), teens and adults. We also offer hockey skating skills classes for children and adults. Watch this space for information about the schedule. Ask questions or reserve your spot in our classes by sending an email to winterclublts@gmail.com.

The $63 million historic renovation of the Coliseum has been completed and ice skating activities will start in September. The Coliseum is the home of the new Indy Fuel hockey team, a minor league affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks, defending Stanley Cup Champions. Winter Club sessions and classes will be in Youth Arena (opened in 2013) and in the new Coliseum. A fully stocked Skate Shop will supply skates, skating accessories and apparel.
